GUIDED SEWING

How does it work?

You bring your pattern, fabric, and notions and use our studio space to tackle your project!

**Guided Sewing is not technically a class. It is a time for you to sew on your own with an instructor available to help when you need it.

**This is not a pattern drafting class, but we can help you adjust your pattern for fit. Bring a sewing pattern and all other supplies for your project.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS

• You MUST know how to operate a sewing machine to take this class. This class is for sewists who are comfortable using a sewing machine and have some sewing experience.

• You MUST have taken our Learn to Sew 101-103 classes or have the equivalent skills.

• If you plan to make clothing during Guided Sewing we recommend you that you first take a session of Adult Beginner Clothing so that you have a good understanding of how to read and use sewing patterns. If you have the basic skills, but might need a bit of help, Guided Sewing is for you.

• You will be expected to read your pattern instructions and work through your project on your own, but we'll be there to help when you need it.

• You may also work on alterations during Guided Sewing, but you should have a basic understanding of what you're doing. If you are new to alterations, please take our Alterations Workshop first.

SUPPLIES LIST:

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS.

In order for us to keep the price of Guided Sewing as low as we can, you MUST bring your own:

• Sewing machine needle appropriate for the fabric you will be using

• Sewing Machine : Use ours or bring your own

• Bobbins (if you're using our machines, please bring plastic Class15 bobbins. These are the kind most home sewing machines use. Check your manual to know what your machine requires.)

• Fabric

• Pattern

• Thread

• Notions: elastic, interfacing, buttons, zipper, hook and eye, bias tape etc.

  • The notions you need will be listed on the envelope of your sewing pattern. If you have any questions about what you need, feel free to call or email, and we'll be happy to help.

• Sewing shears

• Pins

SUPPLIES INCLUDED:

• Sewing Machine : Use ours or bring your own

• Measuring and marking tools

• Irons and ironing tools

• Big tables
